Imagination inspires tale of talking Christmas tree
lights.
If you were a brightly colored bulb on a string of
lights that always got stuck on the back side of the
Christmas tree, how would you feel?
John R. Brooks pondered that thought repeatedly as a
young child whenever he looked at a decorated tree.
It intrigued him that some of the lights on the back
side of the tree were never seen.
My mother and grandmother made Christmases so very
special to me,” Brooks said. “Even though we were
extremely poor, we always had a large amount of presents
at Christmastime and a large and beautifully decorated
tree with lots of lights.”
“In 2002-2003 this idea began to germinate in my mind
about this talking Christmas tree light bulb,” Brooks
said.
